I spotted this funny irregularity on Google Maps between Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and started trying to figure out what it was. That led to someone asking on MetaFilter and getting an answer!

It turns out that Google is off by a little bit. I have drawn in a closer approximation to what the Nunavut Act defines. The red line follows the numerical lat/long figures given in the Nunavut Act; the blue line is my attempt to follow the contours of Quunngug Lake by following the satellite image. (Note that the lake on the map image gets oddly truncated at the border.)
